3 Ways You Can Pray as a part of the city wide campaign

1. Attend the Rockford National Day of Prayer event:
   Thursday May 1st 2008
   7:00 PM
   
   This Christian multi-church event is open to all and will be using the facilities of:

   Spring Creek & Mulford Rd
   Rockford, IL 61101.
   
   
   
   Please consider contributing to the local NDP event.
   Funds are needed to pay for advertising and the event.

3. Pray for your own neighborhood

	Dear praying friend, This little note is to encourage you to continue prayer for your immediate neighborhood.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if ongoing prayer were being lifted up for every neighborhood in our city?  Not just one day of the year, but throughout the year.  Think of the changes we might see! Please consider doing just that- determining to pray regularly through your neighborhood.  It could be a walk.  It could be a drive.  It could be a bike ride.  It could be from your home.  Whatever the format, what is needed is prayer, ongoing prayer, for the people and situations in your immediate neighborhood...  If you would be willing to do that, please let us know by emailing us at bridmin@aol.com, or calling us at 815-637-1754.  We’d like to keep track of where prayer is being offered, in hopes that we can someday have the whole community blanketed with prayer. RESIDENTS

• To come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior
• To be good neighbors
• To work together to fight crime and drugs

FAMILIES

• For the hearts of the fathers to turn towards the children
• For the hearts of the children to turn towards the fathers and mothers
• For parents to love and respect each other, giving a good example to the children
• For children to love and honor their parents so that everything will be well for the children

FAMILY FINANCES

• For good jobs * For good salaries
• For medical Insurance * For college education

BUSINESSES

• For prosperity
• For willingness to pay good salaries
• For willingness to serve the community
• To model honesty and excellence

GOVERNMENT

• For God to give them wisdom to do justice
• To act in righteousness and integrity

SCHOOL(s)

• Safe atmosphere for the children to be in and to learn
• God’s principles and prayer to be reestablished in the school(s)
• God’s wisdom for administrators and teachers
• Involved parents
• Children taught to respect authority
• Free from drugs – alcohol – sex – violence

POLICE AND AUTHORITY

• Respect for police authority to return
• God’s wisdom to crack down criminals, drug dealers and in patrolling streets
• God’s protection and safety for police and fire departments
• Success of new Kennedy Program
• God’s salvation for the police department

CHURCHES

• To serve the community in love – compassion – prayer – and initiative
• To be salt and light in the community
• To be aggressive in outreach / sharing the good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• To establish ministries that will help to make strong families
